Know About JEE Main Exam 2022

An engineering degree from IIT is a dream for every engineering aspirant. For this dream to come true, it is mandatory to crack the JEE Main exam conducted by the National Testing Agency. Since a huge number of students are appearing for this exam, it is not an easy task to crack the JEE exam. Students need to work hard and plan properly to crack the exam. In 2022, the JEE exam is expected to be conducted in the months of June and July.

Unlike last year, the JEE Main exam will be conducted in 2 sessions. Due to the pandemic situation, there were four sessions in 2021. The registration for the first session of the JEE Main 2022 has started on March 1, 2022. The exam will be conducted in 13 languages, and students can choose the language while filling out the application form. The duration of the test is 3 hours.

Highlights of JEE Main Exam 2022

The exam conducting authority has introduced many changes to the exam pattern. The number of sessions, marking scheme, exam centres, correction window, etc., are revised for the JEE Main 2022. JEE aspirants can refer to the below points to know more about these changes.

  • Exam centres – For JEE Main exam 2022, NTA has allotted 501 exam centres in India and 13 exam centres overseas. Students have the option to select 4 centres in their applications.
  • Number of sessions – This year, JEE Main will be conducted only in 2 sessions. As per the latest notification of NTA, it will be conducted in June and July.
  • Marking scheme: There will be negative marking for Section B in Paper 1, Paper 2A, and 2B. Once candidates submit their application for JEE Main exam 2022, students are not allowed to make any corrections to the application forms. No correction window will be provided for the JEE Main application process this year.

Important Dates

NTA has revised the dates of JEE 2022 session 1 and session 2. Earlier, it was supposed to be conducted in April and May. For session 1, the revised dates are 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, and 29 June 2022. For session 2, the revised dates are 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 and 30 July 2022. Candidates are requested to visit the official website for updates.

Registration

The application form for the JEE main is released via online mode. Students are required to download the form from the official website. For 2022, JEE Main registration for session 1 is over. Information about downloading the admit card will be updated on the website of the exam conducting authority. The schedule for inviting the online application forms for JEE Main Session 2, 2022, will be available soon on the website. Students should go through the eligibility criteria for the exam before registering for the exam.
